Our Team

Meet the folks who make it all happen. We see big potential in every moment and in every student, and we care deeply about what we do every day. Our leadership team reflects a group of diverse individuals with breadth and depth of experience across the company.

Director of Chandler Youth Theatre Company and Teen productions & Instructor of Private Lessons

Maya Chavez has worked for Chandler Youth Theatre since 2017. Currently, Maya is currently in her undergrad through Berklee College of Music studying Interdisciplinary Music Studies. She provides private voice lessons for ages 10-18 and is the director of our Company Troupe and all teen productions. Her students have gone on to gain acceptance to colleges and art schools such as AMDA, Grand Canyon University (GCU), and more. Previously, Maya has worked with various theatre programs throughout the valley, volunteering as young as 13 years old.

In addition to teaching and directing, Maya performs with her band, Valley Orange, all around the Phoenix area.

Instructor of Littles’ and Teens’ Acting classes, Storytime Theatre, and Camera acting classes.

Brianna Bailey has worked as a director/instructor at Chandler Youth Theatre since 2021. In this role she directs stage productions, leads acting classes, and runs theatre camps in order to cater drama education to both public and private schools within the valley.

She graduated with her master’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2020, with a research focus on interpersonal relationships and group communication. Prior to this, she lived as a young acting professional in California signed to both an agent and manager. While teaching, Brianna draws on that extensive past experience in the entertainment arts (in film/on stage) as well as her strong psychology background to create a welcoming space for her students that is both fun and educational.

In addition to teaching, Brianna also takes the stage as an improviser at the ImprovMania Comedy Club.

Kylie has been acting, singing, and dancing professionally since she was 8 years old. She is currently minoring in theatre and has taught and directed at theatres across the valley and is so happy to call Chandler Youth Theatre home. Kylie specializes in teaching the skills it takes to become a triple threat, dance, and voice. She can’t wait to meet your kiddos and spread her love for the arts!

My name is Lavender, and I have been doing improv for 9 years. At age 12 I started doing improv at the Tuscany theater with Off the Cuff’s teen and kids troupe. At 13 I moved up to their adult troupe. When I started high school I auditioned for the Perry High School improv team (the Perrywinkles) and I made it my freshman year. I stayed on the team all 4 years, and became captain of the team my senior year. At age 17 I auditioned into improvmaina’s MainStage cast. It is my pleasure to teach kids and teens in the Chandler youth program. Improv is my happy place and I absolutely love spreading the joy to the youth.

Devan Gallegos

For years, Devan has always loved performing onstage. Whether in small, obscure shows like Trail to Oregon or big name shows like The Little Mermaid and Percy Jackson, she never fails to bring her passion and energy with her each day. In her transition from student to assistant director, she hopes to inspire others with her love for all things theatre.

Taylor Martinez

Taylor Martinez, a former Chandler Youth Theatre student, is committed to adding to the positive environment this theatre promotes. She hopes to inspire a new generation of talented actors, just like her mentors did for her. She loves watching her students jump out their shells and learn to express themselves through the art of theatre. She has also found a new passion for all things tech, and is always ready and willing to learn new skills with her time here at Chandler Youth Theatre.

Shana Schwarz

Shana Schwarz is a theater kid who grew up to be a theater mom with three talented children who light up her life. She has been performing since she could walk/talk and can be found singing show tunes most days. She loves to perform in local community theater productions and especially loves working with kids for their shows as a singing and stage presence specialist. She’s also an author with several books out and even more coming soon. She aspires to make the lives of those around her better with kindness, encouragement, and by helping the kids she works with understand just how special these days in youth theater are.

Mary Megan Longton

Megan Longton recently earned her M.A. in Theatre with a specialization in Drama Therapy from Kansas State University, following her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the University of Mississippi. Having performed and volunteered at numerous youth theaters across the valley since eighth grade, she is thrilled to return and continue nurturing a passion for theatre. Megan is eager to work with the valley’s talented young performers!

Elizabeth Eastin

Elizabeth Eastin has been passionate about performing arts for as long as she can remember with a background in musical theatre and show choir.
